🌍 KIIA Global Roundtable Series
A South–South Platform for Global Strategy, Solidarity, and Sovereignty
What Is the KIIA Global Roundtable Series?
The KIIA Global Roundtable Series is a premier program of the Kush Institute of International Affairs (KIIA). It is designed to provide a dynamic, policy-driven space for cross-regional dialogue among leading scholars, youth leaders, policymakers, artists, diplomats, and community organizers from the Global South—with special focus on Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the global African diaspora.
This series recognizes that those most affected by colonial legacies, economic inequality, climate collapse, and statelessness must be at the forefront of global solutions. Each roundtable convenes participants to generate bold ideas, policy recommendations, and transnational action plans.
Mission of the Roundtable Series
To elevate Global South voices and generate shared diplomatic, academic, and civil society strategies for:
-
Reparatory Justice & Historical Accountability
-
Climate Resilience & Environmental Sovereignty
-
Economic Liberation & Financial Reform
-
Migration Rights & Statelessness Solutions
-
Digital Equity, AI, and Global Technology Governance
1. Reposition Global South Actors
Strategic Goals
The KIIA Global Roundtable Series is more than a conference—it is a strategic intervention in global governance. Our goals are rooted in the conviction that lasting, just solutions to global crises must come from those most impacted by systemic inequality, colonial legacies, and economic exclusion. The Roundtable creates a space where theory meets action, and local realities shape global strategies.
We aim to shift the global balance of influence by placing African, Caribbean, and Latin American voices at the center of international policy formation, diplomacy, and research. The Roundtable empowers thought leaders from historically marginalized regions to present transformative ideas and lead global change.
2. Foster Cross-Regional Alliances
By bringing together scholars, activists, and institutions across different continents, the series helps build horizontal, mutually beneficial alliances. These connections break colonial silos and establish new pathways for South–South cooperation and solidarity.
3. Elevate Youth, Women, and Grassroots Leaders
We are committed to cultivating the next generation of change-makers. Through dedicated forums, mentorship, and funding support, the Roundtable ensures that youth, women, Indigenous peoples, and stateless communities have equal access to speak, influence, and act on the global stage.
4. Develop and Disseminate Practical Tools
Each roundtable outputs real, usable products: policy briefs, declarations, charters, media content, and institutional MOUs. These are designed not just to be read—but to be adopted by ministries, NGOs, and international bodies seeking Southern-grounded insights.
5. Build Knowledge Infrastructure for the Future
From digital archives to annual reports, the Roundtable Series is creating a living repository of Global South diplomacy, knowledge production, and political imagination. This infrastructure will serve educators, organizers, and policymakers for generations to come.
